Sjogren’s Syndrome Complicated With Aldosterone-Producing Adenoma: A Case Report

چکیده
Hypokalemia may be present in some patients with Sjogren's syndrome. When a patient syndrome presents hypokalemia, we would first consider it to result of the renal involvement However, this case report, young woman who presented hypokalemia that was not caused by tubular acidosis but presence coexisting aldosterone-producing adenoma. Cases adenoma are extremely rare. This finding underscores need for more careful differential diagnosis also have hypokalemia.

Single-port laparoscopic adrenalectomy for a right-sided aldosterone-producing adenoma: a case report
INTRODUCTION Single-port laparoscopic adrenalectomy is one of the most interesting surgical advances. Here, we evaluate the safety and feasibility of single-port laparoscopic adrenalectomy as treatment for a right-sided aldosterone-producing adenoma. CASE PRESENTATION A 39-year-old Japanese woman presented with hypertension and hypokalemia. Abdominal computed tomography and an endocrinologica...
متن کاملPrimary aldosteronism in a patient with an aldosterone-producing adenoma.
We describe an unusual patient presenting with a history of refractory hypertension and hypokalemia. Initial screening tests for adrenal hypertension were consistent with primary aldosteronism and an abdominal computed tomography scan showed an 8-mm left adrenal mass. However, adrenal venous sampling revealed markedly suppressed plasma aldosterone in the left adrenal vein but increased plasma a...
متن کاملCTNNB1 Mutation in Aldosterone Producing Adenoma
Discoveries of somatic mutations permit the recognition of subtypes of aldosterone-producing adenomas (APAs) with distinct clinical presentations and pathological features. Catenin β1 (CTNNB1) mutation in APAs has been recently described and discussed in the literature. However, significant knowledge gaps still remain regarding the prevalence, clinical characteristics, pathophysiology, and outc...
متن کاملHypomethylation of CYP11B2 in Aldosterone-Producing Adenoma.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the DNA methylation levels of steroidogenic enzyme genes in aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA) and the effects of gene mutations in APA on the DNA methylation levels. DNA methylation array analysis was conducted using nonfunctioning adrenocortical adenoma (n=12) and APA (n=35) samples, including some with a KCNJ5 mutation (n=21), an ATP1A1 mutation (n=...
